Brambles Wins Grand Prix Stakes

NZ Waikato Stud-based multiple Gr1-winning stallion Savabeel (Zabeel-Savannah Success, by Success Express) added a group success when gelded son Brambles (Savabeel-Prickle, by Pins) scored a 3.25-lengths victory in the $150,000 Gr3 Grand Prix Stakes (2200m) for 3YOs at Doomben. Brambles (ridden by Brad Rawiller for trainer Peter Moody) defeated fellow geldings Vatuvei (Reset-Boisterous Lady, by Rivotious) & Red Shift (Lucky Unicorn-Scarlet Queen, by Fasliyev). Brambles (a $100,000 yearling consigned by Waikato Stud at the 2010 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) took his record to 4 wins (including last start's Gr3 Rough Habit Plate over 2000m at Doomben on May 12) & 4 placings (including the Gr3 Gunsynd Classic over 1600m at Eagle Farm on May 2) from 9 starts for $249,338 earnings.
