Mr Greeley Adds US Gr2

In the US, former Victorian shuttler Mr Greeley (Gone West-Long Legend, by Reviewer) added a graded-stakes success when 5YO mare Aruna (Mr Greeley-Surya, by Unbridled) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the US$200,000 Gr2 Sheepshead Bay Handicap (11 furlongs on turf) for fillies & mares at Belmont Park in New York. Aruna (ridden by Ramon Dominguez for trainer Graham Motion) defeated fellow 5YO mares Hit It Rich (Smart Strike-Cuando Puede, by Lord At War) & Principal Role (Empire Maker-Interim, by Sadler's Wells). Aruna took her record to 7 wins (also including 2011's Gr1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes over 9 furlongs at Keeneland & Gr3 All Along Stakes over 9 furlongs at Colonial Downs, plus 2010's Gr2 Mrs Revere Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Churchill Downs & Listed Pebbles Stakes over 8 furlongs at Belmont Park) & 4 placings (including 2011's Gr1 Diana Handicap over 9 furlongs at Saratoga & Gr2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile over 8 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 15 starts for US$945,424 earnings.
