Sea Siren Wins Gr1 Doomben 10,000

On the Australian track, Coolmore's multiple Gr1-winning Australian-bred stallion & former Australian Champion 2nd-Season Sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a Gr1 triumph when favoured 3YO filly Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock-Express A Smile, by Success Express) notched her 2nd successive Gr1 win over older rivals in a fortnight with victory by a short-neck in the $650,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben in Brisbane. Sea Siren (ridden by Jim Cassidy for trainer John O'Shea) created history by becoming the 1st 3YO filly to win this race in defeating 4YO gelding Buffering (Mossman-Action Annie, by Anabaa) & 5YO gelding Temple Of Boom (Piccolo-Temple Spirit, by Special Dane). Sea Siren took her record to 5 wins (also including last start's Gr1 BTC Cup over 1200m at Doomben on May 12 & February's Gr2 Patinack Farm Light Fingers Stakes over 1200m at Warwick Farm) & 2 placings (including March's Gr2 Patinack Farm Surround Stakes over 1400m at Warwick Farm) from 7 starts for $883,330 earnings.
