Godolphin's ultra-consistent 4YO mare It's Tricky (Mineshaft-Catboat, by Tale Of The Cat) notched her 3rd successive graded-stakes win in 3 starts this season with a 0.75-length victory in the US$400,000 Gr1 Ogden Phipps Handicap (8.5 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Belmont Park. It's Tricky (ridden by Eddie Castro for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin) defeated fellow 4YO mare Cash For Clunkers (Tiznow-Miss Dixie Dreamer, by Dixieland Band) & favoured 5YO mare Awesome Maria (Maria's Mon-Discreetly Awesome, by Awesome Again). It's Tricky took her record to 8 wins (also including April's Gr2 Distaff Handicap over 7 furlongs at Aqueduct & March's Gr2 Top Flight Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Aqueduct, plus 2011's Gr1 Coaching Club American Oaks over 9 furlongs at Saratoga, Gr1 Acorn Stakes over 8 furlongs at Belmont Park & Listed Busher Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Aqueduct) & 3 runners-up (in 2011's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs, Gr1 Alabama Stakes over 10 furlongs at Saratoga & Gr2 Cotillion Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Philadelphia Park) from 12 starts for US$1,526,500 earnings.
