Friday, 1st June 2012

Shadwell's dual Gr1-winning 7YO reshman stallion Tamayuz (Nayef-Al Ishq, by Nureyev) recorded is 1st stakes-winner with his 1st runner overnight when unbeaten Irish-bred juvenile colt Sir Prancalot (Tamayuz-Mona Em, by Catrail) raced away for a 4.5-lengths victory in the UK Listed National Stakes (5 furlongs) for 2YOs at Sandown Park. Sir Prancealot (ridden by Richard Hughes for trainer Richard Hannon) defeated fellow colt Top Boy (Exceed And Excel-Injaaz, by Sheikh Albadou) & the filly Effie B (Sixties Icon-Blakeshall Rose, by Tobougg). Sir Prancealot was originally a €52,000 (A$67,00) weanling at Goffs Ireland in 2010 & subsequently a €140,000 (A$179,000) yearling at the 2011 Goffs Orby Sale. He now has 2 wins from 2 starts. Sir Prancealot's sire Tamayuz stands at his owner-breeder Hamdan Al Maktoum's Derrinstown Stud in Ireland for €15,000 (A$19,200). On the track, Tamayuz defeated older rivals to win France's 2008 Gr1 Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard-Jacques le Marois (1600m) at Deauville, following earlier victories in France's 2008 Gr1 Prix Jean Prat (1600m) at Chantilly & Gr3 Prix De Fontainebleau (1600m) at Longchamp.
