Monday, 4th June 2012

Former Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a UK black-type success when Irish-bred 5YO mare Shimmering Surf (Danehill Dancer-Sun On The Sea, by Bering) scored a 0.75-length victory in the £55,000 (A$88,000) Listed Pinnacle Stakes (12 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Haydock. Shimmering Surf (ridden by Neil Callan for trainer Roger Varian) defeated Irish-bred 4YO mare Set To Music (Danehill Dancer-Zarabaya, by Doyoun) & French-bred 4YO mare Molly Malone (Lomitas-Moonlight Melody, by Law Society). Shimmering Surf took her record to 2 wins & 4 placings (including May's Listed Warwick Stakes over 12 furlongs at Goodwood, plus both 2010's Listed Chalice Stakes over 12 furlongs at Newbury & Listed Ballymacoll Stud Stakes over 10 furlongs at Newbury) from 13 starts for £57,919 (A$93,000) earnings.
