Lights Of Heaven Wins Eagle Farm Cup

NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a group success when favoured 4YO mare Lights Of Heaven (Zabeel-I'm In Heaven, by Volksraad) scored a 2.75-lengths victory in the $250,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) at Eagle Farm. Lights Of Heaven (ridden by Luke Nolen for trainer Peter Moody) defeated 9YO gelding Scenic Shot (Scenic-Sweepshot, by Dr Grace) & 8YO gelding Ginga Dude (Istidaad-Clatitude, by Clay Hero). Lights Of Heaven took her record to 5 wins (also including 2011's Gr1 Schweppes Oaks over 2008m at Morphettville & Gr2 Sportingbet Fillies Classic over 1600m at Moonee Valley) & 4 placings (in both May's Gr1 Doomben Cup over 2000m at Doomben & Gr2 A.D.Hollindale Stakes over 1800m at the Gold Coast, plus 2011's Gr1 NZ Bloodstock Caulfield Stakes over 2000m at Caulfield & Gr2 P.B.Lawrence Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield) from 13 starts for $776,688 earnings.
