Quintessential Wins Gr1 Queensland Oaks

In Australia, NZ-based Gr3-winning & Gr1-placed stallion Fast 'n' Famous (Redoute's Choice-Zalinda, by Zabeel) added a Gr1 triumph when daughter Quintessential (Fast 'n' Famous-Florette, by Sword Dance) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the $400,000 Gr1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) for 3YO fillies at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Quintessential (ridden by Damian Browne for trainer John Sargent) defeated Eliza Blue (O'Reilly-Censibelle, by Centaine) & Vittoria (Postponed-Eurotec, by Marauding). Quintessential (a NZ$70,000 yearling consigned by Trelawney Stud at the 2010 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale at Karaka) took her record to 4 wins (also including January's NZ Gr3 Desert Gold Stakes over 1600m at Trentham) 4 placings (including both March's Gr1 NZ Oaks over 2400m at Trentham & NZ Gr3 Lowland Stakes over 2100m at Hastings, plus February's NZ Gr2 Sir Tristram Fillies Classic over 2000m at Te Rapa) from 11 starts for $348,448 earnings.
