Red Tracer Wins Dane Ripper Stakes

Gr3-winning & triple Gr2-placed Kitchwin Hills stallion Dane Shadow (Danehill-Slight Chance, by Centaine) added a group success when favoured 4YO mare Red Tracer (Dane Shadow-Kisma, by Snippets) gained the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $200,000 Gr2 Patinack Farm Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) for fillies & mares at Eagle Farm. Red Tracer (ridden by Hugh Bowman for trainer Chris Waller) scored by a short-neck from fellow 4YO mare Forfeiture (Commands-Academy Awards, by Royal Academy) with a further half-neck to another 4YO mare Alltherightmoves (Johannesburg-Princess Darcy, by Alquoz). Red Tracer took her record to 8 wins (also including March's Gr3 Millie Fox Stakes over 1300m at Rosehill, plus 2011's Listed Toy Show Quality over 1300m at Warwick Farm, Listed James Carr Stakes over 1400m at Randwick & Listed P.J.Bell Stakes over 1200m at Canterbury Park) & 7 placings (including February's Gr2 NSW Thoroughbred Breeders Classic over 1200m at Warwick Farm, plus 2011's Gr1 Epsom Handicap over 1600m at Randwick, Gr2 Patinack Farm Light Fingers Stakes over 1200m at Randwick, Gr2 Patinack Farm Surround Stakes over 1400m at Warwick Farm & Listed Mona Lisa Stakes over 1350m at Wyong) from 18 starts for $703,510 earnings.
