Zennista Wins NZ Challenge Stakes

In New Zealand, multiple Gr1-winning former NZ Java Lodge & Independent Stallions Victoria shuttler Zenno Rob Roy (Sunday Silence-Roamin Rachel, by Mining) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO mare Zennista (Zenno Rob Roy-Zarnitsa, by Maroof) scored a half-length victory in the NZ$50,000 weight-for-age Listed AG Challenge Stakes (1600m) at Wanganui. Zennista (ridden by Darryl Bradley for trainer Lisa Latta) defeated fellow 4YO mare Rememba Howe (Handsome Ransom-Yachting Magic, by Yachtie) & 3YO filly Kasumi (Shinko King-Mistaurian, by Straight Strike). Zennista (a NZ$20,000 yearling consigned by Oxford Thoroughbreds at the 2009 NZ Bloodstock Festival Sale at Karaka) took her record to 5 wins (also including May's Listed Rangitikei Gold Cup over 1600m at Awapuni) & 7 placings (including May's Listed Rotorua Stakes over 1400m at Arawa Park, plus 2011's Gr1 New Zealand Oaks over 2400m at Trentham & both 2010's Gr3 Hawke's Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes over 1200m at Hastings & Listed Ryder Stakes over 1200m at Otaki) from 19 starts for NZ$200,100 earnings.
