Black Caviar UK Race Live At Melb Federation Square

Wednesday, 6th June 2012

The Victorian Government & Racing Victoria announced the UK debut by unbeaten 5YO mare Black Caviar (Bel Esprit-Helsinge, by Desert Sun) in the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6 furlongs) at Royal Ascot on June 23 will be shown live from England on a giant screen in Melbourne's Federation Square as part of a unique Saturday evening that will begin at 10.45pm & include free music, entertainment, a fashion competition & giveaways. Victorian Racing Minister Denis Napthine declared: "Black Caviar has captured our imagination as one of Australia's greatest racing sensations. Through the Coalition Government's Raceday Attraction Program we are hoping many Victorians & visitors to Melbourne will come together to share this moment in racing history live at Federation Square. Everyone who gets down to the Black Caviar Royal Ascot screening will be in the running for 1 of 500 free tickets to Moonee Valley in September for the launch of the night racing season. There will also be free giveaways of Black Caviar tee shirts, scarves & flags & just like the World Cup celebrations, Federation Square will once again come alive overnight with entertainment from Matt Hetherington from the hit television show The Voice & comedy from Tommy Little of the Ten Network's The Project. Fashions On The Field will be another highlight of the evening's festivities with the best dressed male & female decked out in Black Caviar's colours each winning a table for 4 at the Moir Stakes valued at $2,000."
