In the US, Gr1-winning millionaire-earner & Gr1-producing broodmare Madcap Escapade (Hennessy-Sassy Pants, by Saratoga Six) died aged 11 "after complications from colic". On the track, Madcap Escapade recorded 7 wins (including the Gr1 Ashland Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Keeneland, Gr2 Princess Rooney Handicap over 6 furlongs at Calder, Gr2 Shirley Jones Handicap over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream Park, Gr3 Madison Stakes over 7 furlongs at Keeneland, Gr3 Forward Gal Stakes over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream Park & Listed Old Hats Stakes over 6 furlongs at Gulfstream Park) & a placing (in the Gr1 Kentucky Oaks over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 9 starts for US $1,052,852 earnings before a "tear of the middle distal sesamoid ligament" forced her retirement to stud in July 2005. Madcap Escapade (carrying her 1st foal by Pulpit) subsequently sold to John Siukura's Hill 'n' Dale Farm for US$6 million at the 2006 Keeneland November Sale. That 1st foal was Mi Sueno (a US$1.7 million weanling at the 2007 Keeneland November Sale) who went on to win the 2009 Gr1 Darley Debutante Stakes; & her 2008 foal California (by A.P.Indy) sold for US$1 million at the 2009 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
