Wednesday, 6th June 2012

Overall on Day-1 at the Magic Millions National Select Yearling Sale, 116 lots sold for $3,903,000 (down 12.4% on last year's 132 sold for $4,457,750 in a larger catalogue). The average of $33,647 fell fractionally (last year $33,771) but the clearance rate rose to 70% (last year 64%). Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox commented: "It was a good even sale today. We're very happy with the attendance from around Australia & all corners of the globe - they are here to buy. The internationals were very strong today - purchasing no fewer than 34 lots. It was good to see the clearance rate today higher than the same session last year."
