Desert Blanc Wins US Gr1 Manhattan Handicap

Former shuttler Desert Style (Green Desert-Organza, by High Top) added a US Gr1 triumph when UK-bred 4YO entire Desert Blanc (Desert Style-Lumiere Rouge, by Indian Ridge) scored by a nose in the US$500,000 Gr1 Manhattan Handicap (10 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park. Desert Blanc (ridden by Ramon Dominguez for trainer Chad Brown) defeated 5YO gelding Papaw Bodie (Strong Hope-Trillion Wing, by In The Wings) & 5YO entire Boisterous (Distorted Humor-Emanating, by Cox's Ridge). Desert Blanc took his record to 4 wins (also including 2011's Listed Prix De Tourgeville over 1600m at Deauville) & 2 placings (in May's Gr3 Fort Macy Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Belmont Park & 2011's French Gr3 Prix du Prince D'Orange over 2000m at Longchamp) from 7 starts for US$428,094 earnings.
