Holy Roman Emperor Adds India Gr3

Tuesday, 12th June 2012

In India, dual Gr1-winning former Coolmore shuttler Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill-L'On Vite, by Secretariat) added a roup success when 4YO mare Smashing (Holy Roman Emperor-Exquisite, by Galileo) scored a 3.75-lengths victory in the Gr3 Karnataka Cup (1600m) for 4YOs & up at Bangalore. Smashing (ridden by Trevor Patel for trainer Pesi Shroff) defeated 7YO gelding Atlantus (Juniper-Admiration, by Lingot D'or) & 6YO entire Spearhead (Burden Of Proof-Imposing, by Brave Shot). Previously this year, Smashing finished runner-up in both March's Gr1 Indian Turf Invitation Cup (2400m) at Mumbai & February's Gr1 Indian Derby (2400m) at Mumbai, after winning January's Gr1 Indian Oaks (2400m) at Mumbai.
