Luckygray Wins Belmont Sprint

Tuesday, 12th June 2012

Glenlogan Park Stud's dual stakes-winning stallion Bradbury's Luck (Redoute's Choice-Skating, by At Talaq) added a group success when favoured & top-weighted 4YO gelding Luckygray (Bradbury's Luck-Damah Lady, by Mukaddamah) motored home from the tail of the field to score a 1.5-lengths victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Belmont Sprint (1400m) at Belmont Park in Perth. Luckygray (ridden by Shaun O'Donnell for trainer Gino Poletti) defeated 5YO gelding Reimbursement (State City-Wild Revue, by At Talaq) & fellow 4YO gelding Cavallo Pazzo (Not A Single Doubt-Annuity, by Euclase). Luckygray (a $46,000 yearling consigned by Riverslea Farm at the 2009 Magic Millions Perth Sale) took his record to 9 wins (also including May's Gr3 Roma Cup over 1200m at Belmont Park, plus 2011's Gr1 Railway Stakes over 1600m at Ascot & Gr3 Asian Beau Stakes over 1400m at Ascot) & 1 placing (in 2011's Magic Millions Perth Trophy over 1400m at Ascot) from 12 starts for $1,053,325 earnings.
