Peintre Celebre Adds French Gr3

Tuesday, 12th June 2012

In France, former Coolmore shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a group success when Irish-bred colt Xanadou (Peintre Celebre-Doohulla, by Stravinsky) came from back in the field to score a 1.25-lengths victory in the €80,000 (A$102,000) Gr3 Prix Paul De Moussac (1600m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Chantilly. Xanadou (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget) defeated front-running US-bred colt Archbishop (Arch-Avaricity, by Carson City) & fellow Irish-bred colt Coupe De Ville (Clodovil-Fantastic Account, by Fantastic Light). Xanadou was a 30,000 guineas (A$50,000) yearling at the 2010 UK Tattersalls October Sale. Overall he now has 4 wins from 5 starts for €84,500 (A$108,000) earnings.
