Tuesday, 12th June 2012

In Germany, former Coolmore shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a black-type success when Irish-bred 4YO mare Slight Advantage (Peintre Celebre--Kournikova, by Sportsworld) scored a 2-lengths victory in the €20,000 (A$26,000) Listed Silbernes Band Des Rheinlandes (3000m) for 4YOs & up at Cologne. Slight Advantage (ridden by Jozef Bojko for trainer Andreas Wohler) defeated French-bred 6YO entire Tres Rock Danon (Rock Of Gibraltar-Tres Ravi, by Monsun) & fellow 4YO mare Hot Blood (Galileo-Hold On, by Surumu). Slight Advantage was originally a €18,000 (A$23,000) yearling at the 2009 Tattersalls Ireland Sale, then a £36,000 (A$58,000) 2YO at the 2010 UK Doncaster Bloodstock April Sale & finally a 15,000 guineas (A$25,000) 3YO at the 2011 UK Tattersalls Horses-In-Training Sale. Overall she now has 3 wins & 4 placings from 13 starts for €25,893 (A$33,000) earnings.
