Destruction Wins Dalrello Stakes

Wednesday, 13th June 2012

In a result inadvertently deleted from yesterday's round-up of Australian black-type races over the Queen's Birthday holiday weekend, Coolmore's multiple Gr1-winning Australian-bred stallion & former Australian Champion 2nd-Season Sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a juvenile black-type success (& 33rd individual stakes-winner) when Patinack Farm's favoured colt Destruction (Fastnet Rock-Storm Signal, by Keltrice) maintained his unbeaten record with a front-running 0.75-length victory in the $100,000 Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m) for 2YO colts & geldings at Doomben in Brisbane. Destruction (ridden by Glyn Schofield for trainer John Thompson) defeated the gelding Holey Gadoley (Monashee Mountain-Miss Marples, by Falvelon) & fellow colt Substation (Not A Single Doubt-Princess Shorna, by Last Tycoon). Destruction (a NZ$240,000 yearling consigned by Westbury Stud at the 2011 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 2 wins from 2 starts for $126,000 earnings.
