Strada Switched To Riverdene Stud for 2012
Wagga Wagga-based Riverdene Stud in southern NSW announced it will "resume its previously successful role of offering broodmare owners the services of quality stallions & will be the home of dual stakes-winning stallion Strada (Danehill-Shindig, by Straight Strike) in season 2012". Riverdene principal Dr Kevin Pendergast commented: "Strada is a very attractive new alternative for Riverdene Stud's existing client base; we should be able to give him a very solid book. The property has a lot of boarding mares owned by keen breeders in the region that won't have previously considered Strada due to the distances involved. They should see the chance to go to such a well-performed & well-bred son of Danehill as an attractive opportunity particularly as his 2012 service fee has already been set at just $4,400." Strada (a $750,000 yearling at the 2004 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) retired to stud in 2007 with 4 wins (including the Listed Carrington Stakes over 1100m at Randwick & Listed Eskimo Prince Quality over 1100m at Randwick) & 2 runner-ups from just 9 starts.
