Dubawi Adds US Black-Type

Monday, 18th June 2012

Triple Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a US black-type success when Irish-bred 4YO mare Dealbata (Dubawi-Save Me The Waltz, by Halling) returned from a 7-months spell to score a 1-length victory in her US debut in the US$90,000 Listed Mohegan Sky Stakes (8.5 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park in New York. Favourite Dealbata (ridden by Ramon Dominguez for trainer Chad Brown) defeated Brazilian-bred 7YO mare Bubbly Jane (Yagli-Built To Last, by Knifebox) & UK-bred fellow 4YO mare Federation (Motivator-Flirtation, by Pursuit Of Love). Dealbata (from the immediate family of the Classic-placed Best Name) was originally a €110,000 (A$141,000) yearling at France's 2009 Arqana August Sale & subsequently a €380,000 (A$486,000) purchase at France's 2011 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale. Overall she now has 4 wins (also including 2011's French Listed Prix Solitude over 2000m at Saint Cloud) & a runner-up from 6 starts for US$140,447 earnings.
