Librettist Adds UK Black-Type

In the UK overnight, multiple Gr1-winning NZ Westbury Stud shuttler Librettist (Danzig-Mysterial, by Alleged) added a black-type success when 4YO entire Libranno (Librettist-Annabelle Ja, by Singspiel) gained the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the £33,000 (A$53,000) Listed Cathedral Stakes (6 furlongs) at Salisbury. Libranno (ridden by Richard Hughes for trainer Richard Hannon) defeated 5YO entire Our Jonathan (Invincible Spirit-Sheik'n Swing, by Celtic Swing) & 6YO gelding Definightly (Diktat-Perfect Night, by Danzig Connection). Libranno took his record to 6 wins (also including 2011's Gr3 Supreme Stakes over 7 furlongs at Goodwood & Gr3 Criterion Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newmarket, plus 2010's Gr2 Richmond Stakes over 6 furlongs at Goodwood & Gr2 July Stakes over 6 furlongs at Newmarket) & 3 placings (in 2011's Gr2 British Champions Sprint Stakes over 6 furlongs at Ascot, Gr3 Craven Stakes over 8 furlongs at Newmarket & Listed Leisure Stakes over 6 furlongs at Windsor) from 19 starts.
