Congrats Adds US Black-Type

US Gr2-winning Vinery Stud shuttler & 2010 US Champion 1st-Season sire Congrats (A.P.Indy-Praise, by Mr Prospector) added a US black-type success when 4YO mare Turbulent Descent (Congrats-Roger's Sue, by Forestry) returned from a 6-months spell to score a 1.25-lengths victory in the US$72,500 Listed Desert Stormer Handicap (6 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Hollywood Park in California. Turbulent Descent (ridden by David Romeoo Flores for trainer Mike Puype) defeated front-running 5YO mare Izzy Rules (Peace Rules-Da Dance, by Dayjur) & fellow 4YO mare Mildly Offensive (Sharp Humor-It's Personal, by Personal Flag). Turbulent Descent (a US$160,000 2YO at the 2010 Ocala Breeders April Sale) now has 7 wins (also including 2011's Gr1 Test Stakes over 7 furlongs at Saratoga, Gr1 Santa Anita Oaks over 8.5 furlongs at Santa Anita & Gr2 Beaumont Stakes over 7 furlongs at Keeneland, plus 2010's Gr1 Hollywood Starlet Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Listed Moccasin Stakes over 7 furlongs at Hollywood Park) & 2 runners-up (in 2011's Gr1 Acorn Stakes over 8 furlongs at Belmont Park & Gr1 Las Virgenes Stakes over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita) from 11 starts for US$901,640 earnings.
