Clangalang Moves To Willow Grove For 2012 Season

Wednesday, 20th June 2012

Dual Gr1-wining 12-year-old stallion Clangalang (Clang-Little Recruit, by Staff Sergeant) is moving to South Australia's Willow Grove Stud for the 2012 breeding season at a $5,500 service fee. Clangalang (who won both Randwick's Gr1 AJC Derby over 2400m as a 3YO & Gr1 Epsom Handicap over 1600m as a 4YO among 6 victories & $2 million prize-money) originally retired to Eliza Park Stud in Victoria, before moving across the border to South Australia's Rivers End Stud in 2011. So far this season Clangalang boasts progeny earnings over $1.6 million (including 3 stakes-winners) & currently ranks 60th on the Australian General Sires List from only 85 runners. Overall, from an average of only 50 foals a season & his oldest only 6YOs, Clangalang's progeny have won over $4.3 million. Rivers End principal & Clangalang shareholder Louie Elia noted: "With Rivers End on the market, it makes sense to relocate Clangalang. The syndicate is delighted to place him at a well respected & established stud such as Willow Grove.
