Florida 2YOs Day-2: US$350k Elusive Quality Colt

Friday, 22nd June 2012

In the US auction ring, Hill 'n' Dale Bloodstock paid top price of US$350,000 for a colt by former shuttler Elusive Quality (out of Dixieland Band mare Gypsy Hollow) during the closing session at the 2-day Ocala Breeders Sales Company June Sale of 2YOs-In-Training in Ocala in Florida. The colt (consigned by Niall Brennan Stables as agent) is a half-brother to stakes-winners Gipson Desert & Dixie Emperor; he clocked 21.2sec for 2 furlongs during the pre-sale breeze-up session. The price was a new record for the June Sale (the previous June record was US$310,000 for a colt by Double Honor in 2004). The colt was previously bought-back on a bid of US$180,000 when offered as a yearling at last year's Keeneland September Sale.
