Oratorio Adds Irish Black-Type

Friday, 22nd June 2012

Also in Ireland overnight, triple European Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Oratorio (Danehill-Mahrah, by Vaguely Noble) added a black-type success when The Aga Khan's home-bred 3YO colt Takar (Oratorio-Takarouna, by Green Dancer) scored a 4.25-lengths victory against older rivals in the €40,000 (A$51,000) Listed Glencairn Stakes (8 furlongs) at Leopardstown. Takar (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer John Oxx) defeated Canadian-bred 5YO mare Soul Custody (Perfect Soul-Halo's Gleam, by Halo) & 3YO gelding Bible Black (Big Bad Bob-Convent Girl, by Bishop Of Cashel). Last month Takar also won Ireland's Listed Tetrarch Stakes (7 furlongs) at The Curragh.
