1st Starter A Winner In Russia For Shuttler Big Brown

Also in Russia, US 2008 Gr1 Kentucky Derby victor & 4-time Gr1-winning Vinery Stud shuttler Big Brown (Boundary-Mien, by Nureyev) recorded his 1st winner with his 1st runner when 2YO filly Ruby Brown (Big Brown-Truly Ruby, by Red Ransom) scored by 3-lengths on debut over 1000m at Kazan International Equestrian Complex & Race Track for trainer Marat Kozhomzharov, reported bloodhorse.com. Ruby Brown was a US$15,000 yearling at the 2011 Keeneland September Sale. Her sire Big Brown (who stands at Three Chimneys Farm in Kentucky for US$35,000 & shuttles to Vinery Australia where he will stand this year for $22,000) won the 2008 Gr1 Kentucky Derby & Gr1 Preakness Stakes on his way to being voted Champion 3YO Male & retired with earnings of US$3,614,500.
