Monday, 25th June 2012

In Macau, Gr1-winning Emirates Park stallion Danewin (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a Gr1 triumph when Australian-bred 4YO gelding Elderly Paradise (Danewin-Kali Smytzer, by Zabeel) scored a 5.5-lengths victory in the HK$1 million (A$125,000) Gr1 Macau Gold Cup (1800m) at Taipa (also 3rd leg of the Macau Triple Crown). Elderly Paradise (ridden by Wayne Smith for trainer M.C.Tam) defeated Australian-bred 6YO gelding Luen Yat Forever (Honour List-Loisset, by Langfuhr) & NZ-bred 6YO gelding Danpaoshaq (Danasinga-Clever Clogs, by Woodman). Elderly Paradise (a $21,000 yearling consigned by Glentree Downs as agent at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) took his record to 8 wins (also including April's Gr1 Macau Derby over 1800m & January's Gr2 Winter Trophy over 1800m) & a runner-up from 14 starts.
