Dylan Thomas Adds Irish Black-Type

Monday, 25th June 2012

In Ireland, former European Horse-Of-The-Year & 6-time Gr1-winning shuttler Dylan Thomas (Danehill-Lagrion, by Diesis) added a black-type success when 3YO filly Tannery (Dylan Thomas-Danse Grecque, by Sadler's Wells) came from the tail of the field to score a 3-lengths victory against older rivals in the €40,000 (A$51,000) Listed Martin Molony Stakes (11.5 furlongs) at Limerick. Tannery (ridden by Wayne Lordan for trainer David Wachman) defeated 3YO gelding Backbench Blues (Big Bad Bob-Heroine, by Sadler's Wells) & 4YO gelding Defining Year (Hawk Wing-Tajaathub, by Aljabr). Tannery took her record to 3 wins (also including May's Irish Listed Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes over 9.5 furlongs at Gowran Park) & 3 runners-up from 9 starts for €79,247 (A$101,000) earnings.
