Tuesday, 26th June 2012

In the US, 2006 Champion 2YO Colt & 2007 Gr1 Kentucky Derby-winning shuttler Street Sense (Street Cry-Bedazzle, by Dixieland Band) added a black-type success when 3YO filly Sensible Lady (Street Sense-Awesome Lady, by Bianconi) scored a 1.25-lengths victory against older rivals in the US$50,000 Listed Buckland Stakes (5.5 furlongs on turf) for fillies & mares at Colonial Downs in Virginia. Sensible Lady (ridden by Xavier Perez for trainer Timothy Salzman) defeated 4YO mare Kitten Love (Kitten's Joy-Waki Affair, by Miswaki) & 6YO mare Lady Of Greatness (Greatness-Belong To Rita, by Belong To Me).  Sensible Lady (a US$9,500 2YO at the 2011 Ocala Breeders April Sale) took her record to 5 wins (also including May's Listed The Very One Stakes over 5 furlongs at Pimlico) & 2 placings (including last start's Listed Crank It Up Stakes over 5.5 furlongs at Monmouth Park) from 10 starts for US$154,330 earnings.
