Tuesday, 26th June 2012

In Canada, shuttler Tale Of The Cat (Storm Cat-Yarn, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type success when 5YO mare Stars To Shine (Tale Of The Cat-Gaily Lady, by Silver Hawk) scored by a nose in the C$98,000 Listed Trillium Stakes (9 furlongs on ll-weather) for fillies & mares at Woodbine in Toronto. Stars To Shine (ridden by Alex Solis for trainer Mark Frostad) defeated favoured fellow 5YO mare Upperline (Maria's Mon-Snowflake, by Caerleon) & 4YO mare Smart Penny (Smart Strike-Collect The Cash, by Dynaformer). Stars To Shine (a US$45,000 weanling at the 2007 Keeneland November Sale) took her record to 5 wins (also including 2011's Listed Belle Mahone Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Woodbine) & 3 placings (including 2011's Gr2 Canadian Stakes over 9 furlongs at Woodbine) from 11 starts for C$300,105 earnings.
