Back-To-Back NSW Trainer Premierships For Waller

Wednesday, 1st August 2012

In winning his inaugural NSW Trainer Premiership with 117 victories last season (just the fifth trainer to breach the 100 mark in history) few pundits would have expected Chris Waller would better the feat in 2011-2012, however the Rosehill-based trainer brushed that mark aside with a commanding 124.5 wins on the board when the season came to an end yesterday. The ATC's executive general manager racing Matt Rudolph is confident the new season will provide ultra competitive on the back of new minimum Sydney prizemoney levels – $35,000 for midweek events and $50,000 for Saturdays. He added, "This, combined with the continuous improvements to facilities and the rebuild of Royal Randwick, will ensure a bright future for Sydney racing awaits and we wish the best of luck to all of the competitors for 2012/2013."
