Faint Perfume's Half-Brother Salutes

Wednesday, 1st August 2012

A half-brother to Australia's Champion 3YO Filly of 2009-2010, Faint Perfume (Shamardal-Zona, by Zabeel), won over 2400m at the ATC's Kembla Grange metropolitan meeting yesterday in a performance that suggested a bright future. Dragonzone is by Think Big Stud's promising young stallion Pendragon (Elnadim-Alacrity, by Grosvenor), who currently boasts 9 winners from only 14 runners in Australia and includes promising multiple Hong Kong winner The Peak (Pendragon-Cavita, by Cadeaux Genereux). And Pendragon was also responsible for a potential top filly yesterday when 3YO – now 4YO – daughter Blazing Dragon (Pendragon-Utah Red, by Red Ransom) finished with a flourish to win after being stepped up to 2000m, providing her trainer Bart Cummings with a raft of options heading into the Spring.
