Bernard Saundry New Racing Victoria CEO

Friday, 3rd August 2012

Following a decision by Racing Victoria Limited CEO Rob Hines earlier this year not to renew his contract which comes up for renewal in November, RVL has announced Bernard Saundry as his successor. According to news.com.au, "Saundry beat a field of Australian and international candidates for the $500,000-plus role." Currently chief operating officer for RVL, Saundry's previous experience includes stints as CEO of Harness Racing Victoria & CEO of the Western Bulldogs (AFL) "before stepping back into racing by launching and developing the racing industry's television network TVN between 2003 and 2004". Saundry then moved to RVL where he "took over as the director of commercial and racing development until 2007 and was acting RVL chief executive in 2008 before settling as chief operating officer". His new role commences December 1.
