4th Winner For Vinery's Big Brown

Monday, 6th August 2012

Meanwhile, US 2008 Gr1 Kentucky Derby victor & 4-time Gr1-winning Vinery Stud shuttler Big Brown (Boundary-Mien, by Nureyev) recorded his 4th 1st-crop winner when 2YO colt Archer Hill (Big Brown-La Femme Galante, by Grand Slam) was sent off the 5/2 favourite over 1700m at Saratoga and won by a convincing 1.5-lengths to become winner number 4 for his sire. He is also became the 2nd winner on turf for Big Brown who, unfortunately, was a late withdrawal from Vinery's 2012 stallion line-up due to a "laceration to a hind leg which, although not structurally serious, did become infected, delaying the healing process". Archer Hill was a US$150,000 yearling at Fasig Tipton's New York-bred Sale.
