Excelebration Wins Gr1 France Prix Jacques le Marois

In France, Darley's former Australian champion 1st-season sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) celebrated a Gr1 triumph when 4YO entire Excelebration (Exceed And Excel-Sun Shower, by Indian Ridge) scored by a decisive 1.25-lengths for trainer Aidan O'Brien over 6YO entire Cityscape (Selkirk-Tantina, by Distant View) & Elusive Kate (Elusive Quality-Gout De Terroir, by Lemon Drop Kid) in the €600,000 Gr1 Prix Jacques le Marois (1600m) for 3YOs+ at Deauville. Winner of last year's Gr1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp & runner-up behind Frankel in his last 2 starts, Excelebration (originally a €15,000 weanling at Ireland's 2008 Goffs November Sale & subsequently a £20,000 yearling at the UK 2009 Doncaster Bloodstock August Sale) took his record to 7 wins & 5 placings from 13 starts.
