Aust-Owned Pair Sent To US For Gr1 Arlington Features
Melbourne Spring Carnival Gr1-winning contenders Crackerjack King (Shamardal-Claba Di San Jore, by Barathea) & Jakkalberry (Storming Home-Claba Di San Jore, by Barathea) have been sent by their UK-based Italian trainer Marco Botti for a crack at US glory. The half-brothers will compete at Arlington's Saturday meeting: Jakkalberry (100% owned by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock) is entered for the US$400,000 Gr1 St Leger over 13.5 furlongs & Crackerjack King (50% owned by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock) will line up in the Gr1 Arlington Million (10 furlongs). Botti noted: "Crackerjack King and Jakkalberry are both in good order and I am confident that they will cope well with the journey to America. Although I currently have no confirmed jockey, Ryan Moore is a possibility. We shall assess the well-being of both horses on their return to the UK, and if everything is in order we will take them to Australia."
