Samaready Given Green Light By Price

Wednesday, 15th August 2012

Star Vinery 3YO filly Samaready (More Than Ready-Samar, by Secret Savings) will make her long-awaited debut this Saturday in the Melbourne Racing Club's Listed Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield after trainer Mick Price gave her the green light following a track gallop yesterday. According to theage.com.au, Price said, "She's right to go. She had a nice gallop on the course proper over half a mile this morning and she's had two satisfactory trials before that so I'm pretty happy to be sending her to the races this Saturday." Samaready will carry top weight of 58.5kg, and while confident, Price cautioned: "She seems to have made the right sort of improvement after her winter spell but you never know what the other fillies are doing and how they are going so it'll be interesting to see how she performs on Saturday." Last season, in her only 5 starts, Samaready established herself as the best 2YO filly in Australia with 4 wins including the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes before an unlucky 3rd behind Pierro in the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes.
