Makybe Diva Daughter Fetches $300,000 At Inglis Sale
On Day-1 of the Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale, 4YO mare La Dolce Vita (Fusaichi Pegasus-Makybe Diva, by Desert King) was snapped up for $300,000 by champion Makybe Diva's owner Makybe Racing & Breeding. An unplanned purchase, Makybe's business manager Wayne Noorman commented: "All the fillies and mares from the Diva's family continue to be sent to the top stallions and although there was no plan in place to purchase La Dolce Diva today we are pleased to be able to secure her and thus continue our relationship into another generation of the family." The sale was preceded by a stallion parade of Victorian 1st Season Sires: Anacheeva, Ilovethiscity, Master Of Design, Moshe, One World & Toorak Toff. Key statistics had the aggregate at $976,250 from 93 lots sold of the 130 catalogued (14 were withdrawn). The average price was $10,497 and the median $2,000. Selling continues today, with an earlier start at 10.30am.
