Friday, 17th August 2012

The eleven horse field set to run in tomorrow's Gr1 Arlington Million (10 furlongs) at Arlington Park in the US contains a star-studded field, including 3 millionaires and the winners of 21 group races. The local contingent are led by Little Mike (Spanish Steps–Hay Jude, by Wavering Monarch), a winner of 5 of his 7 starts for trainer Dale Romans, while the international challengers include horses that have won Gr1 races in Italy, Ireland and Canada. The betting for the 30th renewal of the race is Distorted Humor 5YO Boisterous, prepared by Hall Of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. European trainers with representatives include Luca Cumani, Aidan O'Brien and Marc Botti, whose charge Crackerjack King is half-owned by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock.
