Montjeu Adds UK Gr3

At Newbury in England, recently-deceased dual-Derby winning stallion & former shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a UK group success when 5YO gelding Mount Athos (Montjeu–Ionian Sea, by Slip Anchor) scored by 3.25-lengths for trainer Luca Cumani over 4YO entire Brown Panther (Shirocco–Treble Heights, by Unfuwain) & 5YO gelding Modun (King's Best–Olympienne, by Sadler's Wells) in the Gr3 King Geoffrey Freer Stakes (2650m) for open Class 1 gallopers. The win for Mount Athos booked a trip to Australia for the Melbourne Cup, in the process taking his record to 7 wins (including the Listed York Silver Cup) from 20 starts.
