Bookies Play Cards Close To Chest With Frankel

Wednesday, 22nd August 2012

Despite star Juddmonte colt Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) facing arguably his greatest obstacle – an added 500m instead of an equine adversary – in this afternoon's Gr1 Juddmonte International Stakes (10.5 furlongs), bookmakers are offering no better than 7/1 on (or around $1.14) about the chances of the as-yet undefeated global hero of the turf whose aggregate winning margin is 67.5-lengths or over 5.5-lengths on average. St Nicholas Abbey ($6.5) & Farhh ($13) are the only runners expected to provide a modicum of resistance to Frankel's attempt to claim a 'baker's dozen'.
