Arqana August Sale Day-4: €200,000 Dubawi Filly
On the final day of the Arqana August Yearling Sale, Shadwell snapped up the top lot when bidding €200,000 for a filly by triple Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy). Consigned by Haras du Quesnay, the filly is out of stakes-placed Vindication mare Simba's Dream, a half-sister of Heritage Of Gold, winner of the Gr1 Go For Wand Stakes & Gr1 Apple Blossom Handicap. She was signed for by Angus Gold who also paid €130,000 for a colt by Montjeu sire-son Montmartre. The session included 5 sales at €100,000 or more. All-told, 62.3% of the yearlings offered were sold at an average €49,292 which was 2.83% up on 2011. The cumulative four days of selling produced receipts of €29,656,500 at an overall average of €98,066, a 2% increase on 2011. The pass-in rate was 34% versus 25.1% last year.
