Inglis Art Prize People's Choice Award To Katey Baddeley
Canberra based artist Katey Baddeley has been awarded the People's Choice at the 2012 Inglis Equine Art Prize. Her graphite on paper work entitled 'Write a New Chapter' was voted the winner following voting by all attendees at public viewings in Sydney, Melbourne and the Hunter Valley. Her prize was a valuable crank easel from Mont Marte International. Commenting on Baddeley's work, Mike Coward of Australian Art Sales noted, "This is the second year running that a drawing has won top honours in the People's Choice award. Katey's artwork captured people's imagination with its beauty and the delicacy of the drawing." Now in its second year, the Inglis Equine Art Prize was established by Arthur Inglis and Mike Coward of Australian Art Sales with the intention of promoting and protecting classic thoroughbred and equine art in Australia and internationally.
