At Belmont Park in the US, 6YO entire Flat Out (Flatter-Cresta Lil, by Cresta Rider) scored by a head for trainer Bill Mott in the US$1 million Gr1 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (10 furlongs) for 3YOs+ on dirt, over 4YO entires Stay Thirsty (Bernardini-Marozia, by Storm Bird) & Fort Larned (E Dubai-Arlucea, by Broad Brush). Flat Out (a US$11,000 weanling at the 2006 Ocala Breeders October Sale & later a US$85,000 yearling at the 2007 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Sale) took his record to 6 wins (including this race last year, the 2011 Gr2 Suburban Handicap over 10 furlongs at Belmont Park, plus 2009's Listed Smarty Jones Stakes over 8 furlongs at Oaklawn Park) from 19 starts.
