Frankel Consummate Professional In Newmarket Gallop
A throat infection couldn't keep trainer Henry Cecil's spirits down when he watched his champion Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) during an exhibition gallop at Newmarket on Saturday. The Guardian reported that Cecil referred to his ongoing cancer treatment, saying he was doing fine and told the crowd "He (Frankel) has had a good blow, which is what we wanted as this is not D-day". Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to Frankel's owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "It was a bit more than a usual workout as we wanted to press him a bit more and use more energy and strength. Frankel never disappoints. He is no pussycat and he likes to be the boss. He is a big, robust and domineering horse."
