Markets Unchanged After Epsom Barrier Draw

Thursday, 4th October 2012

Yesterday's crucial barrier draw (see full details below) for Saturday's Gr1 Epsom Handicap has resulted in "no change to betting", reports dailytelegraph.com.au. Shoot Out and Fat Al retain equal favouritism at around $5 for the famous Randwick mile. Rangirangdoo was a marginal drifter after drawing gate 14, but jockey Nash Rawiller was not perturbed: "It might be a perfect barrier the way Randwick has been racing … I'm not too concerned, my horse is a good beginner and there is a long run down the back". Jockey Tommy Berry who will ride leading lightweight chance Fat Al (52kg) for Gai Waterhouse was also buoyant: "[Last time he] was only second-up, third up will suit him, the Randwick mile will suit him well, he is a tough horse and it is a tough horses race". Meanwhile pint-sized triple Gr1 winner Yosei (15-1 into 13-1) drew the 3 marble and has rider Glyn Schofield "delighted": "Her last run wasn't as bad as it looked, it was a slowly run race, she drops to handicap conditions, goes from 57kg to 52.5kg, there is more tempo, there looks to be good speed all around... Secret Admirer, meanwhile, has come up with barrier 9. For full markets click on the Luxbet link here.
