Paynter Comes Through Latest Surgery Successfully
Following the removal of a "15-inch external growth" from his intestines during surgery performed yesterday, US Gr1 Haskell Invitation winner Haskell appears on the road to recovery, reports bloodhorse.com. Paynter has been through a torrid time after the past month, continually spiking temperatures since being diagnosed with Colitis at the end of August. Also runner-up in the Gr1 Belmont Stakes, Paynter developed laminitis in three hooves early in September and his survival appeared touch and go for some weeks.
