Brilliant Bisc Wins Listed Gimcrack Stakes

Monday, 8th October 2012

Multiple Gr1-winning Blue Gum Farm stallion Elvstroem (Danehill–Circles of Gold, by Marscay) added a black-type success when juvenile filly Brilliant Bisc (Elvstroem-Stella Cadente, by Centaine) scored by 1.25-lengths for trainer Peter Moody in the $100,000 Listed Breeders' Plate (1000m) for 2YO fillies at Randwick, over fellow fillies Guelph (Exceed and Excel out of Camarilla, by Elusive Quality) & Shahad (Fastnet Rock out of Shamekha, by Secret Savings). Winning the 1st juvenile race of the season in Sydney, Brilliant Bisc (an $11,000 bargain consigned by Amarina Farm at the 2011 Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale) took her earnings to $60,000. An incredible statistic to emerge from the event is that each of the 3 place-getters is a daughter of a Gr1-winning mare.
