Positive Early Signs For Thorn Park
In encouraging news for Windsor Park's valuable Gr1-winning stallion Thorn Park (Spinning World-Joy, by Bluebird), who incidentally claimed his 5th Gr1 winner on Saturday via dashing daughter Norzita (ex Visique, by Quest For Fame) in the Gr1 Flight Stakes, the prospects of recovery "for the laminitis-stricken stallion" continue to "look brighter", reports theinformant.co.nz. A fortnight since surgery to address a "hind foot infection, Thorn Park has shown encouraging signs on the long and unpredictable road to recovery." Steve Till, General Manager for Windsor Park commented: "I can say that he's doing well given the circumstances, and while we're not by any means out of the woods with him, the signs are definitely encouraging … Recovering from laminitis is a slow process with no guarantees and it's not like he'll be fine in a week or a month, but one of the most significant indications is the horse's demeanour. He's a lot brighter and is starting to look comfortable…"
